View Full Version : I Had The Weirdest Dream Last Night, Moose
GreNME

Last night, I had a rather bizarre dream.
I lived near Papa Moose, and he was working on something to do with a microchip or something. One day, he was declared insane and delusional, taken from his little workroom, and confined to his home. He couldn't work from his home, but he kept communicating with me, and I had decided to help him finish the chip. So, I'm going around with my laptop, keeping in contact with him, until the same men who took Moose away grab me and handcuff me to my home sofa.
The rest of the dream is watching sequences of "fellow mathematicians" trying to reason Moose back to sanity, while he just kind of looks at them like they are dimwits, saying, "but, I'm fine." Meanwhile, I'm trying my damndest to finish the final design work on my laptop before the battery dies out, playing from hints Moose is giving me as he is "reasoned with" by his alleged peers. I get just about everything in before something shocking happens...
What shocking thing was it? I don't remember. However, I could swear that I've seen this story before. Why the heck did I dream it? I don't normally dream in hackneyed movie plots (though it was kinda neat to have Moose as a partner throughout), and I suppose it isn't really as "weird" as some others. I just figured it'd be neat to share.

You know what I think of when I see a Moose's antlers? "Hatrack". :D

Next thing you know, you'll be dreaming about me.

None of my dreams about you have been anything like that.
Ok, now I'm pretty sure I cannot be relieved this thread isn't about onanism...

You think I should let Squirrel know about this?
Papa Moose

I tell Mama Squirrel everything. Since she already knows, there's no reason for you to tell her. None at all. Completely unnecessary. Wasted effort. Pointless, really. Not worth your time. Totally Ineffectual. In no way would it be of any use.
Honest.

I got a dream dictionary for my birthday so I tried to look up some of the stuff that you dreamt about.
My mom always told me the stuff you dream about is usually your unconcious talking to you, telling you things about your life that you might not notice or purposely ignore, things that are bothering you, fears, etc.
For instance, days before I hafta make presentations in school or I have a day at work where I have a particular responsibilty, I usually dream I'm late, I missed it, I totally screw up, no one listens, etc.
but anyway.....
I can't quite figure out the thing with Moose because I don't know him or your relationship to him. Being arrested may suggest a restraint of some sort, whether self-imposed or from an outside source.
Meanwhile, I'm trying my damndest to finish the final design work on my laptop before the battery dies out, playing from hints Moose is giving me as he is "reasoned with" by his alleged peers. I get just about everything in before something shocking happens...
Trying to finish something in a hurry before something bad happens looks almost like a shadowbox of your real life. I know you've got a lot on your plate with all the classes your taking, and from what you've told me, the next few semesters aren't going to be much different.
The shocking ending. I don't know. I heard somewhere that if you miss a part of a dream or can't remember it, it's such a shocking thing from your unconcious that if your concious where to see it, you would go crazy. That's just what I heard.
but anyway. I hope I've helped you some---these are just my interpretation from your dream. It might really be different. It is your dream.

Hmmmmmmmmmm...
...my dreams over the last couple of nights have been way too literal. I've been dreaming about asking a certain young lady to the semi-formal next week (and yes, only the asking part), which I intend to do. I guess my subconscious just wants to remind me to actually follow through on my intent to ask her.
Hobbes

Maybe, Twink, but it also might be your thinking about it a lot or worried about it.
Before both my proms, some concerts, and semi-formals, I would have dreams that I missed them by some freak accident.

Well, gee... when taken like that, I guess my dream was pretty much literal, too.
Go figure.
Yeah, I can totally see it as an image of my hurried pace here in the waking world. Thanks!

No, I haven't asked her yet. I thought about ducking over to her place and asking her tonight, but then I saw her leave with some dude I didn't recognize, so I couldn't. If I don't see her at school or en route over the next couple of days I'll just go to her door and ask. At the very least I'll find out whether or not she has a boyfriend :P
Starla, you're right that it could imply mixed feelings or some sort of internal conflict. My current set of issues with women in general all tie in to this particular woman. Maybe I need to start a separate thread about it so I don't derail this thread any further...

Thanks, Hobbes. :) I need it, because she's dangerous. I've intentionally avoided getting to know her better because I'm afraid if I do I might fall for her pretty hard... which, given my current views on committment, is something at least part of me doesn't want to happen.
But it seems that having her living across the parking lot from me in our little complex of townhouses was too much for my subconscious. After I unintentionally got ludicrously drunk a couple of weekends ago, Bob the Lawyer tells me that he heard me groaning her name between bouts of vomiting. I was drunk enough that I don't even remember throwing up, let alone anything else.
...which is interesting in and of itself. I do enjoy alcohol, but I only ever really let loose and get stupidly drunk if something is bugging me. There have been three instances the first two were brought on by school-related stresses, and the third was the one I've just described.
Maybe there's more going on here than I think. Perhaps a Hatrack thread is in order. But then again, the majority of jatraqueros don't generally respond favourably to my women-related threads, so maybe I should either post it here or just wait until I've actually asked her.

Damn it, another messed up dream! This time before I could ask her to the semi-formal, she asked me to do my design project with her instead of with my current group (who turned out to be okay with my defection). But then when I asked her to the semi all this weird stuff started happening.

What exactly would be surprising coming from Celia?
Hobbes :)
Her expressing the undying love and respect for me.
That would ruin her reputation, though. At least that's why she tells me she's keeping quiet about it.
Hobbes
09-29-2003, 01:56 PM
So then it's not really a surprise if you already know now is it?

Well, I popped the question... but she turned me down. Though the specifics of what she said were very interesting, and probably merit some mulling over...
Still, I do feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The important part was the asking. :)

i read my horiscope in the onion today:
You have grown fat on the blood of the innocent, which, as it turns out, is the main ingredient in that white cream inside Twinkies.
