Sung to the tune of 'Tomorrow' from the Annie musical (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/C/CRAIG_ARREST?SITE=CTNHR&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT)

Senator Craig will resign
Tomorrow
He won't be a Senator
Tomorrow
But he's not gay!

He thought about it
Yesterday
Now he'll leave to save some face
Tomorrow
And he's not gay!

He'll go on TV and say
"Not gay,
Never was gay,"
Attacked for being Republican
Can't win,
And not gay,
No!

So he will resign
Tomorrow
Will the Idaho Statesman
See print tomorrow
'Cause he's not gay!
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
He goes home Tomorrow!
But Larry Craig is
Not Gay
No way!

I don't know if anyone followed the scandal, but basically Senator Craig played ignorant to having performed a series of signals that are said to be used to solicit public sex in bathrooms, among other public places (you can download the audio from this article (http://wcco.com/local/local_story_242153708.html)). This article on Salon.com (http://www.slate.com/id/2173033/) has some information on the signals, but the last section gives some weird info on body mechanics that is arguing a bit far on the "wide stance" thing. The fact that the guy claimed to have been picking something up off the floor immediately gave me the indication he was lying. In a public bathroom in an airport, the floor is typically the last place anyone would pick something up. That's just nasty. He should have thought up a better excuse.

To correct arguments I've seen made elsewhere (you know who you are), he wasn't arrested for being homosexual. He was arrested for behaving creepy and soliciting public sex. Peering in an occupied stall for two minutes and then reaching under the partition several times is disruptive behavior in the very least. He got in the trouble he did because his disturbing behavior also was typical of soliciting for public bathroom sex, which happens to be illegal (as well as inappropriate and creepy). Trying to make this something about homosexuality does a disservice to most homosexuals, who don't engage in illegal behavior like this.

the homosexual aspect of this that the media has ran with has frustrated me. The fact that he was attempting to cheat on his wife in a public restroom should be the crux of the matter. Followed by the fact that he's a fucking hypocrite republican espousing family values and fighting against gay rights while engaging in extra-marital homosexual acts himself.

Senator Craig is such a scumbag. He's vowing to fight the charge and finish his term. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/05/AR2007090501721.html?hpid=topnews) He is a douchebag of the highest order for this behavior, and should simply quit while he's ahead. Instead, he's going to get himself an equally douchebag lawyer and attempt to spit on the credibility of the officer who arrested him, all because he's a self-hating homophobe who was caught being a hypocritical, adultering, law-breaking perv.

Seriously, it's been a month since his plea. He should just let it drop like he keeps claiming was his original intention. His desire to "clear his name" is more important than taking a stupid faux pas that should be forgotten way too far and overly politicize it. He's being an attention whore at this point because people are snickering at him every time he claims he's not gay.

This is a case where I can say with certainty I will be happy if he loses. Whether he's gay, bi, straight, or any mixture of each, his behavior up to this point makes him deserving of some serious own-age. I hope the idiot tries to run for office again as well and gets thoroughly trounced.

Yet another Republican GOP bastard cheats on his wife... with a guy (http://www.kirotv.com/news/14473628/detail.html). Of course, that doesn't make him gay. Nope. Not at all. He's just as "not gay" as Craig.

When is the GOP going to get over their hypocrisy and just allow gay marriage? It would make their lives a lot easier to live.
